Bald Eagles at Newton Park

It was a quiet morning at Lake Apopka. Not a lot of bird action going on. So I stayed for a little bit to see if any birds were going to make an appearance. Nothing. It wasn’t until I was walking to my car that something happened.

Out of the corner of my eye I saw something black with a hint of white. I thought to myself it might be what I think it is. I pulled out my camera so fast to look. And it was an eagle. I quickly hit the shutter button. I had no idea if the eagle was in focus or even if I had the right shutter speed.

Then, the second one appeared. It was a juvenile.

They were chasing each other. Like a cat and a mouse. I’ve never seen something like this before.

Location: Newton Park

Bald Eagle

Not the best photo, but here are two eagles. Juvenile on the left and adult on the right.
